2020 Performance Update
Well, 2020 has been an extremely difficult year so far! Everyone is facing new and unforeseen challenges, and musicians are no exceptions. So, I thought it was time for an update on what this year has been like for me and how it looks moving forward.
Back in early March, all upcoming concerts were initially postponed. As the pandemic raged on, many were then rescheduled again for later dates, only to ultimately be cancelled altogether. As a result, the end of the 2019-2020 season just sort of unceremoniously fizzled out.
Looking forward to the 2020-2021 seasons, many ensembles that I work with are still striving to figure out how and when to continue with their seasons. Unfortunately, for many groups, it is still difficult to envision and enact a plan to safely create music and reach their audiences. While some have made tentative plans for the second half of this upcoming season, others are still in limbo. This means that my Fall 2020 performance calendar is pretty empty.
However, there is good news in sight! I am currently engaged in several recording projects that will be featured later this year. Right now I am working with Minnesota-based La Grande Bande on two upcoming concerts that will be presented online later this fall. These concerts are adapted from concerts that had to be cancelled back in the spring and early summer. In a few weeks, I will also be working with The Mirandola Ensemble on an upcoming project scheduled to release some time later this year. I am so excited to share the results of these projects with you in the coming months!
I will keep you updated as the 2020-2021 season comes more into focus--stay tuned!
